"I find Awareness Through Movement lessons to be helpful in alleviating aches and pains related to many hours of sitting at work, as well as improving posture, flexibility and a sense of wellbeing. Sometimes the release of musculature tension is so profound, I notice that I have regained the ability to perform a simple movement (such as raising my arms to hang the washing or get out of the car) with so little effort that it stops me in my tracks, and I am astounded at how hard it once was and how easy it has now become. "I had heard a little bit about Feldenkrais - that it is quite gentle. I thought it might be a good alternative to yoga and pilates. I often find yoga/pilates too challenging and can have difficulty keeping up with the class. I had been struggling with stiffness in my lower back and feeling tight all over. After attending classes I felt I could move more freely and was more mindful of how I moved my body following the class."
