Movement relief for repetitive strain injury in the wrist and forearm

Repetitive strain – also known as repetitive stress – injury (RSI) can be seen from this perspective: as the result of accumulated injury and pain arising from the kinds of movements required of us in our everyday lives, repeated over a period of time.

Like rapid repetitive movements lead to strain and fatigue in particular groups of muscles and then to recruitment of other (inappropriate) muscles to get the task done. There are many more reasons that RSI occurs. There is hope of successful prevention and rehabilitation from these kinds of injuries.

The Feldenkrais Method can help you become more aware and improve the ways you repeat actions. How can Feldenkrais lessons help?

Feldenkrais can help you prevent and recover from these injuries:

  • >>Teaching you good self-use
  • >>Discovering how you move and the effort you use reducing habitual effort
  • >>Developing your awareness of habits
  • >>Showing you new movement possibilities
  • >>Increasing sensory and motor precision

Feldenkrais Method can provide essential tools as part of an integrated program for dealing with these injuries. Want to hear more about WHY the Feldenkrais is so effective in prevention and recovery from wrist pain and/or injury.
